CRICKET.
THE ELTHAM CLUB The annual general meeting of members of the Elt.ham Cricket Tluh was held on Tuesday night, when Mr. R. Marsh presided over a good attendance. The annual report mentioned that last season the three Eltham teams were runners-up in their respective competitions, which was quite a good performance. x,The balance-sheet showed a debit balance of £lO 2s 3d. chiefly due to heavy purchases of material tmade last season. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers for the ensuing year twero elccrect as follows president, Mr. O. J. Hawken, M.P.; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. W. Tayler, C. A. Wilkinson, J. L. Weir, J. B. Dunn and Mrs. A. Clarke; secretary and treasurer. Mt. C. Ansford; club captain, Mr. C... Little; vicecaptain, Mr. R. Marsh ; general committee. Messrs. A. O. Heminway. H. L. Smith, and R. Senior, with oflieert ex officio; selection committees, Messrs. C. Little and J. Kellar (seniors), and Messrs. Hemingway and R. Lewis (juniors) : grounds committee. Messrs. W. Little, J. Keilar. K. Cruden and H. Donnelly; social committee, Messrs. L. H. Stratford. L. Phillips, R. Marsh and H. Donnelly. This season Saturday senior and junior competitions will be held under the auspices of the South Taranaki Cricket Association, the seniors commencing on 21st Inst, and the juniors on 28th inst.—lt was decided to enter a teawn in each competition.
Tt was resolved toplace on record the club’s appreciation of the services of Mr. G. M’. Bennett, and of Mr. H. L. Stratford (secretary for the past yea?).
