DISTRICT NEWS.
WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A verj' successful gift afternoon tea was held In the Warea hall on Thursday. Music was very kindly supplied by Mrs. T. E. Larking and Mrs. Bates (Okato), Miss M. Pearson (Puniho), Miss' Enid Hill (Puniho), /Uss I. Sole (Warea), and Mrs. R. J. Bell very kindly played the accompaniments. The gift afternoon was organised by the Puniho-Warea Guild, and was in aid of the stalls for the forthcoming sale of work. Very generous response was made to the appeal for gifts for the stalls by the ladles of the district, for whicl} the guild members tender thanks. On Friday the Puniho branch of the G.F.S. gave a concert in the Warea. hall, but the very heavy rain kept many people away and made a difference in the "gate.” But the concert was a great success, and all present enjoyed themselves. A social is set down for October 26, for which we must hope for a. fine night.
