COLERIDGE POWER SCHEME.
OFFER TO GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, October 10. The City Council resolved to ask the Government to sell the Lake Coleridge hydro-electric scheme to the city at cost price. The resolution followed a diacusaion in which the Government’s proposala to increase the electricity charges to the city were strongly criticised. Councillors stated that it would be cheaper to buy out the Government installation than to develop the Waimakariri / scheme.
