A LEARNED Judge recently remarked that if a man in business was a competent Book-keeper he would never reach the Bankruptcy Court, for his knowledge of /Accountancy would enable him to rectify financial mistakes before it was too late. Again, the Official Assignee in Wellington express d the opinion that 75 per cent, of the bankrupts who came before him had not kept proper books. In the great majority of such cases the reason is not far to seek. Many business men sir'-uly do not know how to keep r a simple set of books, and 'their ignorance very frequently leads to very serious consequences.
