Although a number of functions have been held in aid of the various queen candidates to-day’s count did not change the positions in the poll, the order -still being: Miss Walsh, Miss Nash, Miss Ki veil and Miss Kelly. The sports’ function in the King’s Theatre last night was fairly well attended, the picture programme being assisted by a concert and community singing. Vocal items were given by Misses Rita Grubb, Eileen Hodgson, B. Sheahan, I. Rigg, and Messrs. A. Bills and P. Aitken, each item being encored. The community singing was lead by Mr. P. Aitken. At Cardiff the Band and Fire Brigade committee held a danse chantant, and despite unfavorable weather the attendance was good and the function proved a great success. The evening was occupied by a concert programme and dancing, Miso Eileen Kelly, the candidate, contributing items. For the “March of the Giants” on Saturday night the EltKam Pipe Band has promised assistance and the event is being looked forward to. At the Stratford Jersey Cattle Breeders’ sale next Thursday, E. J. Kirkwood will sell two-year-old bulls of the famous noble of Oaklands—Gamboge Knight blood. With one of these bulls behind him no man need walk off his farm. The residents of Stratford and district are notified that Ernest Davies, the London qualified sight-testing optician, visits Stratford every Tuesday, and may be consulted at Mr. Gaffaney’s, Broadway.
