GENERAL ELECTIONS.
THE HURUNUI SEAT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, October 7. The Premier announced that Mr. S. Andrew is the Reform candidate for the Hurunui seat. Mr. Andrew has been prominent in public affairs in the Kaikoura district for 14 years. He has been a member ot the Kaikoura County Council and also member of the North Canterbury Hospital Board. LIBERAL FOR WAIKATO. Te Awamutu, Oct. 7. A largely attended meeting of Liberal delegates to-day selected Mr. F. Lye, a dairy farmer, of Pukekura, to contest the Waikato seat. The meeting was unanimous in its selection, Mr. T. M. Wilford having left the choice of a party candidate to the delegates. Mr. Lye becomes the official Liberal candidate. THE MARSDEN SEAT. Whangarei, Oct. 7. Mr. Morrison, the official Reform candidate for the Marsden seat, 'having retired on account of ill health, a meeting of delegates selected Mr. Wm. Jones, Whangarei County chairman, in his stead, Mr. A. H. Curtis and Col. Mackay, two other candidates, agreeing to withdraw in favor of Mr. Jones. The only other candidate in the field is Mr. A. J. Murdoch, Who was runner-up to Mr. Mander at the last election.
