GLOAMING’S VICTORY. VERY EASY WIN. By Telegraph.—*Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, October 5. The Herald, commenting on the Craven Plato, says it was really no race. When fairly in the straight Gloaming passed Beauford in the easiest possible manner, with several lengths to spare. All things considered, Gloaming must be regarded as the greatest horse of his time. The Telegraph says that Wood rode Beauford with his hands and heels, but had no chance against the New Zealander. Gloaming’s time was three-quarters of a second slower than Beauford’s last year.
