DEFENDANT’S NON-APPEARANCE. By Telegraph • -Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 4. The Rev. Robertson Orr again failed to appear at the Magistrate’s Court today. Dr. H. E. Jeffereys, expert in nervous and mental cases, said he Saw Mr. Orr two weeks ago when he was quite unfit to appear. Fie was now a voluntary patient in the convalescent home at Porirua, and was very agitated and depressed. Witness considered him a borderline case, not getting better. Replying to Mr. Hunt. S.M.. he said that Grr was likely to be pushed over the borderline if brought to court. Mr. Hunt: “I think be will have to take the chance. You have responsibility; so have I.” Unless he had positive evidence of accused’s unfitness he must appear. He adjourned the case for fourteen days, when, unless Mr. Orr •was physically unfit to appear, a warrant would be issued.
