It is reported from Greece that the new King is practically a prisoner in the Palace. The Venizelists refuse to participate iq a revolutionary administration, and will only accept a legally-elected Government. Troops are refusing to obey the revolutionary committee party. M. VENIZELOS IN LONDON. Received Oct. 3, 8.10 p.m. London, Oct. 2. M. Venizelos spent the day interviewing Lord Curzon and other prominent men, in order to inform himself of the British views. He will see M. Poincare to-morrow at Paris. CONSTANTINE’S FAREWELL. TRAVELLING EXPENSES PAID. Athens, Oct. 2. There was no popular demonstration of sympathy for Constantine, who departed in the steamer Andros escorted by the tor-pedo-boat Pergamos. There were emotional scenes at the quay at Oropus, where King George bade farewell to his parents. • Before leaving for Sicily on Saturday with his wife and brothers, King Constantine asked the revolutionary committee for a written declaration that his departure from Greece would be temporary. This was refused, but the committee granted him £5OOO for the expenses of the journey. CONSTITUTION OF CABINET. Athens, Oct. 2. M. Politis has refused the portfolio of Foreign Affairs, expressing the opinion that the Cabinet should be colorless. M. Diomedes refused the Finance Ministry for a similar reason. It has been decided to send the Greek politicians recently arrested by the revolutionary committee to an island to be selected by themselves pending their trial.
