ASSAULT ON EVEREST.
ANOTHER ATTEMPT PROBABLE. dy Telegraph.—-Press Assn— Copyright. Paris, Oct. 2. General Bruce, leader of the Everest expedition, interviewed at Marseilles, declared that while without doubt Everest cannot easily be conquered he believed the ascent was not impossible, though it. would remain extraordinarily difficult. Patience, health and cheerfulness were needed and acclimatisation was indispensable. He was satisfied that the landmarks which had been made would indicate the route to be followed. General Bruce said they would probably re-attempt the ascent in two years.
