UNREST IN PORTUGAL.
INSURRECTION THREATENED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received October 3, 8.10 p.m. Lisbon, Oct. 2. Numerous arrests have been made in connection with the revolutionary move ment in October, 1921, including Captain Ramos, who was Minister of Marine under the revolutionary regime. The arrests provoked a widespread protest, though the origin of the popular feeling is more probably to -be found in the dissatisfaction of army officers and State subsidies. There is talk of a military insurrection. Postal and telegraphic workers have struck. Emergency orders have been issued to the military and naval commanders and armed police are patrolling the city in armoured cars. — Au£.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
