Greenside, a director of the City Equitable Company, giving evidence in the Bevan case, said that at a committee meeting of the l>oard in November, 1921, at which only he and Bevan were present, it was unanimously resolved to give Bevan sole authority to deal with the company’s investments and cash balances. Bevan, at a subsequent meeting, admitted the company’s investments were unusual and he assumed main responsibility for them. Neverthelese he declared the company wae solvent. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
