' '(To the Editor.): ( Sir, —My attention has been drawn to a letter in your issue of Wednesday last, over the signature of S. Vickers, and I would be giad if you would grant me space to point out to Mr. Vickers that he was (I hope inadvertently) quite unfair to me in his deduction of the condensed report of the meeting he referred to, , The actual position is that, at a very representative conference of my country election committees and friends, held on Saturday, 23rd ultimo, the question of the dairy produce control was, only among other important questions, discussed. Mr. Vickers’ statement that i I withehld information from farmers concern- ! Ing the details of the proposed Dairy Produce [Control Act, is entirely disposed of by the i fact that, immediately I saw in the News the I advertisement calling a meeting of producers to discuss this question, I forwarded to the promoters of the meeting, after ascertaining that the matter was not still regarded as confidential, the only copy available to me of the proposed Dairy Produce Control Act, together with my views on the question, in order that those present at the meeting may know the details. Every dairy company in my district may rest assured that, as soon as available after presentation to Parliament, a copy of the Dairy Produce Control Bill will be forwarded for their information. —I am, etc., L • S.
