THE DISMISSAL REPORT, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Sept. 30. A cable was recently sent by the Prohibitionists to the Civic League, Detroit: “It was published here that Ford dismissed 18.000 men for drinking and laid off 100,000 more.” The following reply has been received: “The coal strike forced Ford to close all plants for four days. A hundred thousand now restored to full time. No connection with liquor. Ford also published a statement at his plants hereafter will be absoluuMy dry. No man will be employed with liquor smell on his breath. Great enthusiasm has been kindled nationally among the dry forces.”
