SUICIDE BY HANGING.
CORONER’S RECOMM ENDATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Sept. 30. At an inquest on the * body of Mrs. Vida Neal, in returning a verdict that deceased hanged herself while suffering 1 from melancholia, the Coroner said the ■ first thing a person should do when he found another person hanging was not to run for assistance, but to cut the : body down and remove the rope from I the neck. The evidence showed that had this been done deceased’s life might have been saved, as the doctor was of opinion that she had been dead only about a quarter of an hour when he saw her.
