To-day and to-night at the People’s the sensational melodramatic film “The House of Whispers,” which stars J. Warren Kerrigan, will be screened. The story is very gripping, and very unusual. Also it is most mystifying, holding the attention of the spectators from beginning to end. It relates how an ingenious criminal builds a secret stairway and .a. number of secret, passageways in an apartment house, enabling him to carry oh the profession of burglary to his heart’s content. It is undoubtedly one of the finest pictures Kerrigan has produced in years and is excellently adapted to his virile, romantic type. He is seen in the role of an adventure loving young clubman, who undertakes to solve the baffling mystery which surrounds “The House of Whispers,” the exclusive apartment house. The supporting pictures includes Topicals and comedy and the prices of admission to both sessions are, D.C. Is 6d, stalls Is. Children 6d to matinee.
