DANCE CARNIVAL. The Gisborne Times gives a glowing account of Miss Florence Bedford’s annual dance recital, which took place hi Gisborne last week: “Each year appears to see an even higher standard attained, and the performance, taken generally, has had no superior if, indeed, it has been equalled in Gisborne. Keen enthusiasm for her art. and a highly developed artistic sense, largely accounted for the overwhelming success attained. and the continuous charming scenes, breaking upon the vision as if through a kaleidoscope, were the subject of enthusiastic admiration. The setting was. in itself, a charming study, being of Futurist design, consisting of a black curtain with colored circles of varying size and hue, the whole producing a unique bizarre effect, and at once attracted attention. It is such details as tins that denote the born artist, and it is hero above all other places that Miss Bedford excels. If artistic scenery, beautiful girls, charming scene l nnd clever dancing make for success. Miss Bedford undoubtedly scored heavily.” VICTORIA LEAGUE.
