KIRKWOOD IN AMERICA FAILURE TO QUALIFY. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 29. 8.30 p.m. Sew York, Sept. 29. In the southern open golf chmtnpionship at Nashville, Tennessee, Kirkwood did not finish among the first forty in the qualifying round. Mitchell and French headed the list with 68, Farrell 70. Hagen and Barnes also failed to qualify. LADIES’ INTER-CLUB MATCH. Next Wednesday the ladies of the New Plymouth Club will play an inter-club match against Stratford, at Stratford. The team is as follow: Miss Gavin, Miss Rundle, Miss Thomson, Miss Stanford, Miss Bremer. Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Burke, Mrs. C. Weston, Mrs. Waters, and Miss Morton. Emergency: Mrs. Scanlon. ELTHAM CLUB. In the final round of the Eltham Ladies’ Golf Club championship (seniors), Miss H. Wilson defeated Miss L. Quin by 2 up and 1 to play.
