CRICKET.
WESTERN PARK CLUB. A meeting of the management committee of the Western Park Cricket Club was held on Monday evening, and it was decided to open the season at Western Park to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, when all new members are asked to attend. It was decided to intake two honorary members of the club of two West End schoolboys, these to be nominated by the head teacher. It was reported that Mr. Fred Bayly had donated a bat, this to be awarded to the most improved cricketer during the season. A grounds committee consisting of Messrs. Denniss, Lawtey, Robertson, Quickfall and Oakley was appointed, and Messrs. A. B. Macdonald and V. Halley were authorised to procure in the best market one full length and one half length of match matting. Six new members were nominated, so prospects for the coming season in->k particularly bright.
