The society for the encouragement of horse-racing, after investigating the charges of doping, fined and de-lieensed two trainers and disqualified three of the recent winning horses. It is stated that other investigations are likely to result in further drastic action. It is alleged the offences were all committed at Deauville. A TRULY GREAT HORSE. The Sandown Park Eclipse Stakes, of £8735, run in July, was generally regarded as such a good thing for Tamar (second in the Derby) That he was sent out at even money in a field of twelve. He ran a game race, too. but could not quite get on terms with Golden Myth (8 TO 1), who carried 9.7 to his 8.2, and won by a head. The un’uciir Monarch, who started l at 12 to 1, w:-s i poor third, succeeded by i Foiemarch, and the '.rack was so heavy ow- ; ing to continuous rain that the time for the ■ mile and a quarter was 2.13. Taunar was ridden by F. Bullock, who has not been very fortunate in England this season. Lord Astor won the three previous Eclipse I Stakes .with Buchan (twice) and Craig an Eran. Bullock was on the latter, and also on Buchan in 1920. Golden Myth, who is by Tredennis (a grandson of Bend Or) from Golden Lily (a granedar.chter of Bend Or), is only four years old. l>nt is to go to the stud during the coming season. He cost Sir G.
