INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The final event of the 1922 season’s series of Catholic socials was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday night, and it was a great success. For the dancing part of the night's programme music was provided by Miss Curd’s orchestra, while Messrs. J. Duschenski and J. Mischewski carried out the duties of M.C.’s, The floor was in first-class order, the music all that could be desired and the dancers declare this to have been one of the most enjoyable of the thoroughly enjoyable series. The supper provided was of first-class quality, amply sufficient and fully appreciated. The euchre contest attracted a large number, some 22 or 23 tables being occupied. The ladies' prizes were won by Mrs. T. Lindsay first, Mrs. F. Spurdie second, and Mrs. B. Dombrowski third. The men’s prizes went to Messrs. J. Schreder first, Sisseley second and Stieller third. Points prizes for the five meetings were won as follows: Ladies’ by Miss Payne, with a total of 4U points, and the men’s 'by Master Norman Spurdie. with 41 points. At the conclusion of the euchre competition Mrs. N. Curd, on behalf of the committee. asked Mrs. Evans, as a token of appreciation for the excellent manner in which she supervised the contests throughout the season, to accept a present of a pair of suede gloves and the very hearty thanks of the committee, as well as ‘ the individual contestants.
