LATE BOXING.

AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 27, 1 a.m. Hobart, Sept. 26. The boxing semi-finals in the lightweight division of the Australasian amateur championships were decided tonight, and resulted: E. Thompson (New South Wales) beat W. Shegog (Tasmania) and McDonald (New Zealand) outpointed C Ainsworth (Victoria). Thompson was too experienced for Shegog, and weakened him with lefts to the body, the towel being thrown in in the third round. The Mc-Donald-Ainsworth match provided a great contest, and the men were frequently applauded for vigorous exchanges. McDonald forced the fighting throughout, particularly in the last rotind, scoring with fine straight lefts and snappy right swings. The finals will take place on Wednesday.
