PERSONAL.

A Sydney message reports the death of Sir Charles Gregory Wade, exPremier of New South Wales, following on a sudden heart seizure. Messrs. C. C. Ward and A. Veale have been appointed the representatives of the New Plymouth Borough Council on the committee of the (band of the 4th Battalion (Wellington, Regiment). The death of Mr. V. E. Julian, at Opotiki, at the early age of 24, will be regretted by Taranaki friends of the Julian family, especially those in the Urenui district, where the family resided for a number of years. Mr. Julian was an only son. Mr. A. G. Anderson, until recently managing clerk for Mr. Chrystal, of Eltham, has accepted a similar position on the staff of Mr. L. M. Moss, solicitor, New Plymouth. Prior to the war Mr. Anderson was with Messrs. Moore, Moore and Nichol, Dunedin, and later saw five years’ service at Gallipoli and France.
