LONDON MARKETS. Received Sept. 22, 7.30 p.»m. London, Sept. 21. Wheat cargoes are inactive, hut sellers are asking 6d to Is advance, in view of strength in American cargoes. Spot trade ts firm, but not active. Flour is quiet. Oats are firm and occasionally dearer Peas and beaus are quietly steady. Sugar.—Granulated 50a 9d. CANTERBURY MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The potato market continues to firm,, and to-day there was keen inquiry for whites up to £G. 5s to farmers at country stations. The Auckland demand is almost exclusively for whites. The Katoa is leaving Lyttelton today, and carries a consignment of about 6000 sacks, about 2000 each from Oamaru, Tlmaru and Lyttelton. The Opihi is sailing next Monday, and the Koromlko on Thursday or Saturday. It is understood that deliveries are booked for these boats. Dakotas ar© worth up to £5 10s and f.a.q.’s £5 ss. Oats are healthier in tone, due to Home and Australian inquiries. Business has been done on a basis of 2s 11f.0.b. sacks in for A grade Gartons and 2s BHd for B grade.
