Brussels, Sept. 19. Herr Landsberg (the German Minister) has informed M. Jasper that Germany will pay the reparations instalments due on August 15 and September 14, and guarantee the payment of the October and November instalments by six-month bills, which Allied banks would discount to Bel-gium.—Aus.-N.Z. Berlin, Sept. 19. Herr Havenstein informed Cabinet that the Reichsbank was ready to sign gold bonds to Belgium for a period of six months, and that the British banks were willing to prolong the term a further 12 months. Germany advised Belgium she was prepared to remit the bonds -for six months, subject to the Reichbank’s guarantee, but gold will not be deposited. DEBTS AND REPARATIONS. TASK FOR THE LEAGUE. The Exchange Telegraph Company’s Geneva correspondent reports that France has consented that the League should examine and discuss all questions relating to interAllied debts and reparations.—Aus.-N.Z. The French delegate, in agreeing with the League’s discussion of reparations, declared that discussion was necessary for the maintenance of peace and the economic restoration of Europe. The proposal to which the French agreed was made by Lord Robert Cecil. It provides that all questions of inter-Allied debts and reparations shall be examined by the League.
