London, Sept. 18. Victoria Is offering holders of the £2,997,000 4 per cent, loan maturing in October, conversion at par into 5 per cents, repayable in 1935-45. Any stock not converted will be paid off. LONDON WOOL SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram froun their London house under date, 15th instant:— Wool Sales.—The sales closed firmly to-day. As compared with last sales’ closing rates, prices are higher by about 5 to per cent, for greasy Merino super, greasy Merino medium, fine greasy crossbred and medium scoured crossbred. Prices are higher by about 7% to 10 per cent, for scoured Merino super, scoured Merino medium, medium crossbred slipe fine crossbred slipe and fine scoured crossbred; prices are higher by about 5 per cent, for Merino and crossbred lambs; prices are higher by about par to 5 per cent, for inferior Merino and coarse scoured crossbred; prices are about the same as at August 3, for medium and coarse greasy crossbred and coarse slipe crossbred. Average current London value of the undernoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wool: Merino super 24d to 26d, merino average 20d to 24d, crossbred (50 to 58s) 16d to 20d. crossbred (48 to 50s) lid to 13d, crossbred (46 to 48s) B%d to 10!£d, crossbred (44 to 465) 7%d to 9d, crossbred (40 to 445) 6%d to 7%d, crossbred (36 to 40s) to 7«4d.
