TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
NEW SYSTEM OF MANAGEMENT. A BOARD APPOINTED. The election of a board of managers to control the New Plymouth Technical College, in accordance with tlte new system that has been adopted, took place last night. The new system provides that in place of an advisory committee working under the Education Board, the board of managers will have direct control. This board consists of nine members, two of whom are appointed by the Taranaki Education Board, whilst the other seven are elective, viz., two by the local bodoies (i.e.. Taranaki County Council. New Plymouth Borough Council and New Plymouth Harbor Board), two by the employers (Taranaki Employers’ Association. Master Builders/ Association. Farmers’ Union), two by the employees (carpenters and joiners. Amalgamated Engineers’ Union and Taranaki Workers’ Council), and one by the school committees within a radius of five miles of New Plymouth. I The elections took place last night in i the Technical College. Mr. H. W. Tnsull, ! secretary of the board, presiding. In each case only the requisite number were j nominated, and the board of managers will consist of Messrs. A. L. Roberts (school committees), W. G. Reid. F. A. Coleman (employers), R. J. Clarke and W. Bicknell (employees), J. S. Connett and G. H Dolby (local bodies). The Education Board will nominate its two members at its next meeting.
