The sun rises to-day at 6.5 a.m. and sets at 5.55 D.un.; to-morrow, rises at 6.4 a.m. and sets at 5.56 p.m. IN PORT. Waitemata, s.s. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. COASTAL. Rarawa, from Onehunga, to-morrow. John, from Lyttelton, Wednesday. OVERSEAS. Port Denison, to leave England, Sept. 20. Waihemo, from Pacific Coast, November. SAILED. September IG.—Kahika, s.s. (11.40 a.m.), 1172 tons, Corby, for Nelson. KAHIKA SAILS. The Kahika, after discharging SOO tons of general southern cargo, sailed shortly before noon on Saturday for Nelson. She later proceeds to Bluff and intermediate southern ports to load for New Plymouth again. WAITEMATA WORKING. A good start was made with the discharge of the Waitemata on Saturday morning, the heavy timber on deck being first removed. The vessel will clear port about Thursday. JOHN ON WEDNESDAY. The John, which will call at Wanganui en route to New Plymouth from southern ports, is now expected at New Plymouth on Wednesday with general cargo. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED. Wellington. September 16.—Iris (9.25 a.m.), from Brisbane. Onehunga, September 16.—Rarawa (9.15 a.m.), from New Plymouth. SAILED. Sydney, September 16.—Whangape, for New Zealand.
Auckland, September 16.—Navua (12.20 p.m.), for Suva. Wellington, September 17.—Athenic (7.10 a.m.), for London.
