The Berlip correspondent of the Matin learns on trustworthy authority that Herr Havenatein, chairman of the Reichsbank. whom the Government is sending to London, will propose that the Bank of England should undertake the guarantee for six months payment to Belgium of 70 million gold marks, while the Reichsbank undertakes to pay the Bank of England within eighteen months.

The Figaro says that hope of reaching an agreement by the Reparations Commission is not lost. A compromise has been Reached and is being submitted to Brussels and Berlin.
