TWO BODIES AMALGAMATING. A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT. By Telesrauh.—Press Assne’ation Palmerston N., Last Night. At the conference of secretaries of the Wellington provincial district branch of the Dairy Farmers’ Union, held today, an announcement was made as the result of the recent conference at Wellington between representatives of the Dairy Farmers’ Union and the New Zealand Farmers’ Union a basis of federation had tentatively been agreed upon, but the terms of the agreement were yet to be ratified by the respective executives. The agreement provides that the New Zealand Farmers’ Union and the Dairy Farmers’ Union should each continue to do their own organisation and manage their own branches and provincial organisation: that each member of both organisations contribute 5s to a Dominion fund: that, the Dominion conference cons ; st of the provincial presidents and one delegate from each 500 financial members of each province; that the T>omin : on executive be electea bv a joint members’ conference: that the conference and the executive be called the New Zealand Farmers’ TTnion conference and executive respectively; that the provincial president of each province of the Dairy Farmers’ Union take a seat a<? a member of the Dojnin: on executive forthwith on ratifying the agreement • and that a payment of two shillings and sixpence discharge liability of the Dominion levy to May 31.. 1923.
