REFLECTION ON HIS NERVE. London, Sept. 5. Englands hangman, Ellis, is deeply annoyed bv the report that he and other executioners drink brandy as a “bracer” before executions. At the inquest on the body of William Yeldham, who was hanged this morning •iter being condemned, with his wife, Elsie Yeldham, for murder, the coroner asked if it was true that a bottle of brandy wjMs placed on the governors table for the gaol officials. The governor replied. “That is an absolute lie.”
