INQUIRY AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Sept. 12. The specie l committee of the Board of Health inquiring into the question of venereal disease resumed its sittings to-day. Dr. W. Young considered that the free clinics had not been an entire success because such a large proportion of the patients ceased treatment before they were cured. He recommended the adoption of the Pennsylvanian system, in which there is compulsory treatment. This treatment should be for a period not exceeding six months. Notificat : on should only be made use of when the patient omits to attend for treatment before a cure Is obtained. Giving a wrong name or address should be made a penal offence. He suggested that better opportunities be given midwives to study Venereal disease.
