PLUNKET SOCIETY.
NEW PLYMOUTH BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the New Plymouth Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon. Those present were: Mesdames Home (in the chair), Ambury, Wade, Jenkins, Valentine, Elliot, S. Russell and Stocker (hon. secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames W Weston, D. Brown, R. Cock, N. King and H. Russell. Reports were read and adopted. it was decided to hold a baby day in November with the usual stalls, sewing, produce, etc. It was decided that each member of the committee should be asked to be responsible for five made-up garments. Materials also will be gladly received from any friends willing to help. Subscriptions—Mrs. Newton King £2 2s, Mrs. Frank Blundell 10s, Mrs. Burrows ss, Mrs. Sorrenson ss, Mrs. Webster ss, Mrs. Williamson, ss, Mrs. Mabin ss, Mrs. Kerr ss. Donations —Mrs. Drake 15s, Mrs. Humphries 10s, Mrs. Vadanavitch £l. The nurse’s report for August stated: Number of.babies on the list (old ones) 251, (new ones) 18; breast .11, supplemented 2, artificial feeding 5; visits paid to homes (old cases) 227, (new cases) 63; visits received at office (adults) 286, (babies) “237; advice to expectant mothers 3; mothers shown how to make milk 10; four visits paid to Waitara (new babies there 5); five visits paid to Inglewood (new babies there 7).
