NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. A four-hall match was played at Waiwakaiho on Saturday under perfect golfing "conditions. Some very fine cards were returned, the winners being Andrews and Worsley, with a record score of 9 up. The best cards were:— Andrews 12 and Worsley 17, 9 up. Hasell 5 and Bloxam 12. 8 up. Williams 14 and C. Stephenson 18, 4 up. Etherington 12 and Archer 17. 3 up. Johns 2 and MoOuade R. 2 up. Butcher 2 and Burgess 9. 2 up. Johnson 7 and Monteath 13, 2 up. Renner 9 and Honan 11, 2 up. The semi-finals of the junior championship were also plavod. .T. Stephenson beat Griffin 4 and 2 and Hutchings heat Avery 1 up at the 19th. Stephenson and Griffin both played good golf on the outward half, and were square at the turn. Stephenson then won four holes in succession, and the game finished on the 16th green. Hutchings and Avery had a great battle all the way and were square at the IRth. Hutchings winning the 19th hole in a well-played 4. Next Saturday a teams match, captain v. secretary, will he played. Intending competitors should advise the secretary not later than Wednesday. LADIES’ INTER-CLUB MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH v. HAWERA. A team of New Plymouth ladies visited Hawera on Friday, being defeated by the Hawera ladies. In the four balls matches they ended all souare. hut New Plymouth lost the singles by 10 to 3. The result of the four ball matches was as follows, Hawera ladies mentioned first:— Mrs. Smith and Miss Burgess beat Miss Rundle and Mrs. Nigholson 3 up. Mrs. French and Mrs Suisted beat Mrs. Quilliam and Miss Stanford 3 up. Mrs. Christie and M’-s. Marshall., all square with Miss‘Rollo and Miss Simpson. Miss Caplen and Mrs. Wright lost to Miss Bremer and Mrs. Hill. 4 down. Mrs. Foyster and Mrs. Gibson, all square with Mrs. Waters and Miss Foote. Miss Young and Mrs. Wnke lost to Mrs. MacDianmid and Miss Johns 3 down. In the singles the results were : Mrs. Smith heat Miss Rundle 7 and 6. ■Mrs. French beat Mrs. Quilliam 6 and 5. Miss Burgess heat Mrs. Nicholson 6 and 4. Mrs. Glasson heat Miss Stanford 2 and 1. Mrs. Suisted lost to Miss Rollo 2 and 1. Mrs. Christie beat Miss Bremer 10 and 8. Miss Caplen lost to Miss Simpson 2 ana f. Miss Collins beat Mrs. Hill 4 and 3. Mrs. Marshall heat Mrs. Waters 1 up. Mrs. Bright beat Mrs. Mac Diarmid 3 and 2. Mrs. Foyster beat Miss Read 4 and 3. Sirs. Coleman beat Miss Foote 2 and 1. Miss Young lost to Miss Johns 1 down. To-morrow a medal match will be played. Players are to choose their own partners. AMATEURS BEAT PROFESSIONALS.
