The following Government weather forecast was issued at 4 p.m. to-day: "Present indications are for strong northerly to westerly winds, squally at times southward of New Plymouth and Napier. Fair weather is likely to continue in the East Coast districts, but cloudiness is increasing generally, with rain following shortly in districts with a westerly aspect.
