CHURCH UNDER SOVIET.
REVOLUTIONARY CHANGES. BISHOPS MAY MARRY. London, August 19. The All-Russian (Greek Orthodox) church at Moscow has decided, says the Berlin correspondent of the London Daily Mail, that married clergy may become bishops. Throughout the history of the Russian Church bishops have been monks. It is unlikely that the innovation will be accepted, the change being so revolutionary. The proposal was introduced at a council presided over by Bishop Antonin, head of the committee set up by the Bolsheviks to rule the Orthodox Church in place of the imprisoned Patria d ch. The new Soviet Church tn Moscow has cancelled the excommunication of Tolstory pronounced by the Orthodox Greek Church.
