Lambs.—Canterbury, light 12*4d, medium 11 l-Bd, seconds 10%d; Southland, 10 7-8 d; North Island, ordinary 10 5-8 d; South American, light 10%d, heavy 9%d. Frozen Beef.—Argentine, fores 3%d, hinds 5%d. Chilled Beef.—Argentine 3%d, hinds 7%d. Other meats unchanged. CARGOES MARKET. * Received Sept. 3, 5.5 p.m. London, September 1. Wheat cargoes are quiet and nominally unchanged ; Australian afloat is quoted at 50s 6d. Parcels were inclined to be easier at the opening on account of freer Canadian offerings, but closed steadier on better American advices and speculative covering. A feature of the market was the sale of a New Zealand parcel for an east coast port at 44s per 4801 b.
