A SEVERE STORM.
DAMAGE IN FRANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 2, 12.45 a.m. Paris, August 31. A wind storm, accompanied by extraordinarily heavy hail, devastated vineyards in many districts of south and middle France. The hail in some places was two and a half feet Jeep. Many tobacco plantations were ruined. Swollen rivers in the Savoy district swept away bridges and dykes.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
