FRENCH HARVEST.

SOME GOOD REPORTS.. By Telegraph.—Press Awn.—Copyright. Paris, August 31. The French wheat harvest is estimated at 75 million quintals, necessitating the importation of eight to ten million quintals. The vine crops are exceptionally good, except in Burgundy and the east. The eugar beet crop is very heavy and there will be a large surplus available for export. Received Sept. 1, 9.55 p.m. Paris, Aug. 31. Owing to the poor wheat crop and the necessity for importing 20 million quintals before the 1923 harvest, the Government has forbidden the use of anything but wholemeal for bread-making throughout France.
