DEMAND FOR HOMES.
NEW PLYMOUTH’S EXPANSION. (By Wire —Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Nights Housing was touched on by MF» S. G-. Smith (Taranaki) in the House ionight. He blamed the Housing Department for delays and mismanagement, and quoted the case of « man who applied for a house in 1919 and was kept answering letters and signing forms for three years before he was informed that Cabinet had not agreed to build enough homes to cover bis case. The need for workers’ homes in New Plymouth -was acute, and he urged that in view of the ra£xl growth of the town and the district the Government should make a special effort to ease the situation.
