ADVANCES TO EX-SOLDIERS.

HELP FOR DISABLED AND T.B. MEN. There seems to be a misunderstanding among returned soldiers regarding the extent to which advances under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act are at present being made. The advances now being made are: (a) Loans for small farms for badly disabled and T.B. men, and (b) loans for the erection of houses to badly disabled men, T.B. men. and men who had purchased sections prior to the slowing down of advances in November, 1921. At no time have advances for the badly disabled and T.B. men been stopped. Since the slowing down of advances in November of last year until the middle of August, 219 cases, involving loans amounting to £201,170, have been settled.
