THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.
TARATA COMPANY. The twenty-fifth report of the Tarata Cooperative Dairy Company, Ltd., states: The butter made amounted to 72 tons, being an increase of 25 tons over last year. Suppliers are to be congratulated on the increased supply this season, the excess of butter-fat over the 192021 season being 48,812 lb, an increase of 55.4 per cent. Advances made were equivalent to 12.21 d per lb of butter-fat, and the balance remaining (£994) will pay a. further 1.74 d, making the total payment for the season 13.95 d. This total will be increased by the balance on the Port Victor shipment of 227 boxes, which is still unaccounted for. Further payments will be made as the money conies to hand! Statistics: Lb of cream, <366,670; lb of butter-fat, 136.922: lb of butter, 161,924; average test, 37.34; overrun, 18.26.
