FALSE PRETENCES. By Telegraph -Press Association. Wellington, August 3. Henry George Wamsley was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with false pretences and retaining £5 and £2 sent him as bonds by two unsuccessful applicants for positions as travellers. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on the first charge and 14 days on the second. The sentences to run concurrently. TE KUITI MAYORALTY. Te Kuiti. August 30.
