THE MAKAH'J COMPANY. ANNUAL MEETING. The nineteenth annual meeting of the Makahu Co-op. Dairv Comnanv was held at Makahu yesterday, the chairman (Mr. A. Coyne) presiding.. The annual report stated: -During the past season there was a good increase in the milk supply, which lielned to considerably reduce the average cost of manufacture. The cheese was shipped on consignment, and most of >t lias been sold, and realised at least full average London prices, but. unfortunately, the market did not turn out as good as was anticipated. There is a surplus of £856 18s 3d. which will allow of .a further payment of 3.81 d to suppliers, and when the balance of cheese (some yet. unshipped) is sold, there will be a final payment. Any necessary repairs, or renewals have been attended to. the building and plant are in very fair order, and the cost of maintenance during the coming season should be light. The building could do with a coat of paint. The report was adopted. The working statistics showed the following figures: Milk received, 1,387,754 lb: but-ter-fat, 53,887 lb: test. 3.88: cheese. 140,725 lb: milk to cheese, 9.86; cheese to butterfat. 2.61. • The retiring director. Mr. A. Coyne, was re-elected to the directorate, and at a subsequent meeting of directors he was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year.
