The Greek Patriarch has memoraiised the League of Nations protesting against a Catholic majority on the Palestine Mandate Commission concerning holy places. He pleads for equal representation of the Eastern Church with a Protestant president. The Patriarch has also communicated with the British Government, pointing out that after the Crimean War the British declined to allow a reversal of the status quo at the expense of the Orthodox Church.
