BOXING.
TOURNAMENT AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The Taranaki Boxing Association are getting all details in connection with their big tournament on SatUTdav evening next in order. Advice from Auckland states that Jerry Whittome is in great fettle. Charlie Cann will know that he has been fighting before the end of the 15 rounds has been reached. On Saturday evening last Cann defeated Mike Flynn at Westport, and now holds the championshipu Five special amateur bouts have been arranged. Tn the fly weights there are two promising lads in Scott, of Moturoa. and N. Milne, of Buller. Anderson will meet A. Brooking, of Stratford, and Fitzsimmons will meet E. Webber. R. Milne, New Plymouth, will meet W. G. Contes, Omata. A Mills will meet Tuku. of Moturoa. in the heavy-weights. Mills so far has not suffered defeat, but Tuku. who is a good two-handed fighter and very game, hopes to do the trick. Prices for admission have been reduced, and a bumper house is assured. Patrons are advised to reserve their seats at Collier’s. Box plans now open.
