ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLE’S. “Reckless Youth,” Cosmo Hamilton’s daring story, starring Elaine Hammerstein, is screening for the last time tonight at the People’s. In this comedydrama Miss Kammerstein has the role of a young girl who adopted as her motto quite early in life the two simple words, “Who Cares ?” and, careless of all the conventions, came within an ace of wrecking not only her own happiness but that of a number of others with whom she came in contact., “Reckless Youth” will carry you back to your irresponsible days, when life was one round of gaiety after another. Niles Welsh plays opposite Miss Kammerstein, and the 11th episode of “Thunderbolt Jack” is included on this programme.. EVERYBODY’S. “OVER THE HILL” TO-NIGHT. The William Fox super-feature, “Over the Hill,” will commence its local season at Everybody’s to-night. For mingled pathos and humor, and for idealism tempered by an underlying truth to life as it really is, and a keen understanding of human nature this great play would be hard indeed to beat. The film tells the story of the selfsacrifice and heroism of the “black sheep” of a family, who, through his regard and reverence for the mother who so devotedly loved him, became the “best of the bunch.” To shield his father’s name and save his mother suffering, he goes to prison on a false charge of horse-stealing; and then, when remorse had killed the father, and all the rest of her family had failed her, the “black sheep” comes to her rescue and support. A sweet subsidiary love interest is afforded by the romance, dating from their school days, of “the black sheep” and the village belle. “Isabelle,” for that is her name, is true to her lover through all his ups and downs; does all she can [to help his mother; in fact, shows throughout all the characteristics that will go to make her in her turn one of the very best of mothers. There will be special matinee screenings to-morrow and Wednesday at 2.30.
