A lady, while on her way to do some shopping in Timaru, dropped her purse, containing a considerable sum of money in silver and notes, and decided to advertise her loss. Before the advertisement, had time to appear, however, a young man called at the house and informed the lady t*at her purse was waiting for her at the police station. He had found rhe purse, taken it straight to the police, where the contents were investigated, and an address discovered, and had then gone straight to the address to acquaint the owner with the whereabouts of her Jost property. The lady immediately offered the man Cl as a reward, hut Tie quietly refused. “You need the money more than I do. You are married, and 1 B.IJI single,” he said.
