Thomas, M P., leader of the railwaymen, addressing railwaymen. said he trusted th? life sacrifice made by Mr. Coffins would be an example to the rest of Ireland to unite for the saving of the countrv and her people. The oresent international situation was most difficult and dangerous. If Austria collapsed Germany would follow.. and France would be ten times worse off. He honed she would be wise and sensible. The only means of restoring the trade and prosperity of the world was to forget the period 1914 to 1918 and direct all efforts towards securing the peace of the world, nr.d not the maintenance of enmity. —Aus.-N.Z.
