DISTRICT NEWS.

OAKURA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) This year the boys and girls attending the Oakura school have made up their minds to take part In the root competitions in connection with the boys’ and girls’ agricultural clubs. They have- also decided to enter for a potato-growing contest, in which are a number of other schools surrounding New Plymouth. It is to be hoped that in this, their first effort, they may achieve at least a measure of success. The school has broken up for a fortnight's vacation, and during that time the competitors’ intentions are to get to ; work making ready the plots 16^01,wtirry to putting in th® * v
